Space is still available. Ensure your admission with an online purchase. Tickets will also be available at the door as long as space is available. See you this Saturday evening, April 19! April Chapter Meeting Recap

VP, Jooson Kim (right) talks with chapter members at the April meeting.
Our last regular chapter meeting of the season was well attended and very busy. In addition to electing officers for Vice President and Treasurer we also had our new 2014-2016 Strategic Plan approved by our membership. Congratulations to Jooson Kim and Tom Rochette for their reelections as Vice President and Treasurer. We really appreciate what they bring to the Board of Directors! The new Strategic Plan is posted on our "About" page.

Judy Tumosa presented an update on the current state of the NH Fish & Game Aquatics Education Program and an integral part of that program, Trout-in-the-Classroom. It really made the importance of the TIC program hit home.

Bill Thompson did his usual spectacular job in informing us on some of the best trout fishing in the state of NH, taking us to the Saco, Ellis, Androscoggin and Swift Rivers and Mountain Pond. Not only did he give the updated inside information on access, but shared some of his favorite flies, techniques and timing on when to fish. It was a great way to end the speaker season with trout season now officially open on the streams. Spring runoff may be a little longer this year with the snow pack, but we'll be ready.
Guest Speaker, Bill Thompson, talks about the important insect life on his favorite streams during his presentation.

It has been a great meeting season. Our Programs Committee is hard at work lining up top notch programs for next season starting in October, so stay tuned. Don't forget that the fundraiser is coming up on Saturday, April 19th. See below.

Monthly Meetings

When:  GBTU chapter meetings are held on the first Monday of every month, from October till April.  All are welcome to attend and we encourage you to bring friends and family.

Time: Meetings start at 6pm and typically last till 8pm.  However, with our new meeting location, many members show up at 5pm, grab a bite to eat, drink an adult beverage, tie some flies, and talk tall tales of their fishing adventures.

Where:  Roundabout Diner.  Rte 95 & Rte 1, on the Portsmouth Traffic Circle
http://www.roundaboutdiner.com/

Costs:  All of our monthly meetings are open to the public (TU members and non-members), and there is no charge for attendance.  However, in recognition of our efforts to host monthly meetings, and our continued efforts in the areas of local conservation-restoration-education, we kindly suggest making a cash donation (at each meeting we simply pass the hat). All cash donations are welcome, but typical donations range from $5-$10, per person.  In advance, thank you for your continued support of Great Bay TU.
